Equal Opportunities Policy Statement Nicholls Colton Group Ltd is committed to eliminating discrimination and encouraging diversity amongst its workforce and to provide every employee with a working environment that promotes dignity and respect to all. To that end it is the aim of the policy to ensure that:  Our workforce will be truly representative of all sections of society and that each employee feels respected and able to give their best.  We provide equality and fairness for all in our employment and do not discriminate on grounds of gender, marital status, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, religion or age.  We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.  All employees whether part-time, full-time or temporary, are treated fairly and with equal respect.  Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability.  Recruitment is undertaken in a manner that does not discriminate against any particular group and to ensure that employment positions are advertised openly.  Help and encouragement is provided to all employees to develop their full potential and utilise the talents and resources of the workforce to maximise the efficiency of the organisation.  Intimidation, bullying, harassment or victimisation, in any form, is not tolerated in the work place. To achieve the aims of the policy the company is committed to:  Creating a work environment in which individual differences and the contributions of all employees are recognised and valued.  Making available training, development and progression opportunities to all employees.  Reviewing all employment practices and procedures to ensure fairness.  Treating breaches of the equality policy as misconduct which could lead to action in accordance with the company’s disciplinary procedure.  Setting up an equality plan with clear measurable objectives and targets.  Implementing the policy through the equality plan.  Monitoring the make-up of the existing workforce, and applicants for work, with regards to gender, ethnicity, disability, age and religion  Reviewing this policy annually.
