Health & Safety Policy Statement The Nicholls Colton Group provides a wide range of services relating to the construction sectors, including laboratory and in-situ testing of materials and soils and aggregates, analysis of contaminated soils and asbestos containing materials, specialist inspections of structures, environmental monitoring, drainage surveys, and geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy services. The Nicholls Colton Group believes that safeguarding the health, safety and long term welfare of all employees and those who may be affected by our works is fundamental to the success of the business. It is committed to proactive Health & Safety Management at all levels of the business and considers it a key line management responsibility. To achieve this we will:-  Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and others affected by our activities  Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities relating to health and safety  Provide safe systems of work for employees and ensure that adequate information, instruction, training and supervision is given to them as appropriate  Assess the significant risks arising from the company’s work activities and provide appropriate control measures to prevent accidents and work related ill-health  Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment  Establish effective communication arrangements to enable employees to participate fully and effectively in health & safety discussions  Promote a working environment where employees make Health & Safety a personal responsibility  Provide sufficient resources to allow compliance with the requirements of health & safety legislation and development of the system  Make arrangements for the safe use, handling, transport, storage, and disposal of all substances and equipment  Monitor health & safety performance against set objectives to drive continual process improvement It is the responsibility of all employees to assist and co-operate in implementing this policy, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and welfare are not only set but are maintained throughout the firm. This Policy will be brought to the attention of all employees through inductions and briefings, and is displayed on noticeboards and the website. It will also be available to the public on request. The Health & Safety Policy is reviewed annually for continuing suitability. The policy has the full support of the Board of Directors and the Nicholls Colton Group Management Team.
